Is ‘Knock Off’ Van Damme’s best movie? Probably not. Is it the one I find myself going back to more than anything else he’s starred in? Absolutely!

To be fair, I did enjoy his 2000 effort “Time and Tide”. I also disagree with you believing that Knock Off was bad. I actually liked it a ton; Tsui’s fun style had made it a blast to watch, and both Rob Schneider and Van Damme put in good performances as the leads.

Also, how come you think that Double Team was his last good effort? Both Knock Off and Time and Tide were good films from what I recall. Double Team was fun (I agree with your comment on the energy in the film), but I can understand why Zach gave it the rating he did. Either way, glad to see you appreciate this movie. Wish there was more briefcase gunman and clubfoot tho.
Im also not that big of a fan of Knock Off. I perfer Rodman to schneider… and i need some colourful villains.

Agreed! I was going to say that the only Van Damme movie that beats ‘Double Team’ is ‘Knock Off’…superior in every way! ‘Double Team’ is severely let down by the badly edited fight between Van Damme & Rourke at the end, it’s far too choppy and has no flow whatsoever.

6/10 disappoints me. This is 9/10 with one point deducted for Rodman. Wait no 10/10 because of Rdoman. Regardless this was is the last good Tsui Hark film. Everything since has been pretty lackluster. The energy of this movie is off the charts. Watching Van Damme run around as mime is great. Then we get the dude with a briefcase gun followed by Club Foot with a switch blade between his toes. I wish Hark and Van Damme would get back together for one more crazy film. Knock-off was crap.
