He explained the differences between him and Bruce and the odds sounded like they were in his favor, but he admitted that he got ahead of himself. Headlines like this are only designed to piss off Bruce Lee’s most hardened fans, and they keep taking the bait.

Damn, you’re right, and what makes it worse is the fact I’ve seen The Proud Youth as well! Had completely forgotten it’s also based on the same source material. I guess I should have rephrased it to ‘Invincible Asia focused adaptations of The Smiling, Proud Wanderer‘!

Is it weird that the best versions of these movies are those Hong Kong legend DVds from over 20 years ago? Shout’s work on The Killer was very impressive (opening credits aside) so am fairly confident these movies should look at least much better than the HK blurays. Pretty much a day 1 buy although the boxcover artwork is shocking. Had to get out the magnifying glass to find Leslie Cheungs character

There is a Shaw version – The Proud Youth. Though I expect a dragged-up Tin Ching is somehow less sexy than Brigitte Lin!

Not all their content – just the ‘ambient viewing’ productions like ‘You’ etc. where the majority of the major plotpoints are verbal. ‘Ripley’ is a great example of programming that is not ambient viewing and relies on full visual engagement from the viewer.

I think The prodigal son is one of the…10 best martial arts movies ever made, On the run is IMHO a “splendid movie, The champions is a charming little action comedy, etc.

But I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS ROSA!!!!

Gonna check it out fast, because days of ordering movies thinking just “Hey, that looks fun!” are over for me. It’s not just the money, but I’ve bought too many disappointing (or worse) flicks these past 4-5 years.

Well, I don’t have a phone in my hand when I watch Tick Tick Boom or The Shadow Strays, and if anybody from Netflix knew, I doubt they’d be telling me that I’m watching incorrectly.

I don’t subscribe to the bullshit notion that modern movies are for people on their phones all the time. So much so, that I’m a dictator with my friends when we watch movies and I tell them “put your fucking phone away and pay attention.” (Jokingly)
